May’s Pupdate!

My god have the weeks flown by! So the puppies went off to their furever homes in mid April when they turned 8 weeks of age. It was so tough saying goodbye because they all went within the space of two days. I suppose it was better that way because it was kind of like ripping off a plaster, if you do it slowly it prolongs the pain so it’s better to get it over and done with quickly. Kind of a weird analogy to give but I’m sure you get what I mean! The house was SO quiet when they left, despite the other 4 lunatics being there. I must say I’m really happy with the homes I chose for the puppies, I advertised them on Done Deal (which I know has a bad reputation) but I “interviewed” everyone beforehand, I emailed them a questionnaire to fill out and did a home visit before deciding if the families were suitable. This way I had great piece of mind when I did hand them over.

I recently emailed all of the families for an update on how the puppies are getting on and here are some of the responses:

“Hi Chloe. Cooper is doing great!! Had his last vaccination yesterday so we’re looking forward to being able to take him out walking next week. He sleeps in the kitchen now at night and there’s no crying from him. Paper training going quite well too!!
We are so glad we saw your add. So delighted with him and how he’s settling in.”

“Hey Chloe, the puppy is great. Named him Jack. He’s getting big now. Thanks so much again, I’m in love with him. I’m keeping him busy around the garden and trying to get him used to using a certain spot for the toilet. I got some toilet mats and a spray that attracts them to pee in a certain area and they seem to be working, but his aim isn’t always on target 🙂 He’s amazing and loves cuddles.I use the youtube dog music for helping him sleep and it works really well. It seems to relax him and in no time he’s snoozing. He also likes chasing a ball I got him which is funny to watch.”

“Hi Chloe, Olly’s doing great. He’s settled in brilliantly and seems content! He has a routine of being able to go in and out of the garage all throughout the day and at night we keep him inside which he is happy enough with, he doesn’t cry or anything which is great. Getting some decent photos was hard as he’s such a hyper little puppy he doesn’t like to stand still! 🙂

“Hi Chloe, Cooper is getting on great! He just got his second injection so I will be able to bring him out in two weeks 🙂 ”

The last few months have been hard work but it was an amazing experience to see puppies being born and caring for them. However I think it’s time for Lily & Shade to get the “snip” now!
